Oh, I'm also going to take a Cambridge exam (in November), the CPE (C2).
I found some very useful PDF books to revise grammar et vocabulary (B2-C2 levels), I can give you the link if u want.
To decide which one to take, it only depends on you. If u wanna be sure to get it, I recommand B2 but if u think ur level is higher, take C1. Otherwise, u can maybe ask ur English teacher ?

What is great is that my school offers training, we should have started back in January but the board wouldn't give him any teaching hours (the worst is that he does it on his own free time, without being paid). Obviously considering the price I'd rather be sure to get it... Do you think there is any kind of free white exam out there ?

And you can find training exams on Cambridge English website. There is also a lot of online short exercises.

bon ahah je me permets de suggérer une correction parce que tu as indiqué que tu voulais être avertie si tu faisais des fautes (en même temps, il n'y a que comme ça que l'on progresse) du coup j'aurais plutôt dit:

what are they about, your exercises ? / what are your exercises about ?
[I've been learning English] since I was five, i suppose ? -> l'âge s'exprime avec l'auxiliaire être au lieu d'avoir + concordance de temps
but it wasn't really hard, it used to be like "my name is ..." "what is your favorite colour ?" -> before pour situer dans le temps c'est pas l'idéal, mieux vaut utiliser un temps spécifique. (:

i've been learning english for about 10 years (since i was in grande section) i guess :)

I guess it's my 5th year of learning English..? We didn't do much in elementary school actually so I'd rather say I started learning it in year six.

Well, to be honest, English got me interested since the very beginning, the very moment I started actually having classes. However, it took me no less than two years to ask my parents for private lessons : I was a little ahead on my school program and all I had in mind was to become bilingual since my encounter with a trilingual kid in summer camp, I also grew kinda bored of what we were doing in school.
It was almost like a rebirth! I learned so much in my teacher's company, keys to the language that I could've only been given in uni otherwise!

Besides, one of the things that helped me the most was, just like you said, practicing. I did that through watching a lot of series in English, with captions at first, youtube videos, and eventually my level was high enough for me to read in English. I read all my manga scans and webcomics in English (I even ordered the English copy of Black Butler...), articles as well! Reviews... Even books lately. All my socials are in English, by that I mean that 95% if not more of the people I follow (or at least who appear on my feed) are English-speakers, the same with the ones I interact with.
Basically all the content I consume nowadays is in English. It's gotten to the point where I even watch *japanese* animation with English subtitles or that I forget French words here and there / have English phrasing come to my mind more easily.

Do you have any upcoming projects involving English ? (Like a penpal or a trip...)
